New FREE Stitchery Pattern added

I added a new primitive stitchery pattern today to the Cotton Picken Prims website. It's called Primitive Cupboard and can be found on page 4 of the Freebie section of the website. Simply email me if you'd like your free copy!

With the summer time here my work schedule has gotten pretty hectic. I have had some time to sketch and come up with some new patterns. I hope to get them sewn up soon and have the finished products and patterns ready for sale real soon.

I'm also re-decorating and re-organizing the craft room here. I moved to the larger of the two spare rooms and along with the larger area came more "let's toss it in there and deal with it later" type attitude. It also took me a very long time to decide on a paint colour for the walls in here too. LOL Hence why I'm still not organized. A new desk is being made and new shelves and well the list goes on and on. I'm hoping to have it all completed by the end of the month so I can get down to business and get some crafting actually finished and ready for sale. I'll keep ya all updated on my progress.

Hope everyone has had a beautiful summer...fall will be here before we know it! That also means I turn another year older too...oh no! LOL

Will keep ya posted...stay tuned!

New Valentine's Day Free Pattern

I don't know how many of my followers or readers of this blog follow Prim Talk Radio. I have been a staff member there for awhile now, but haven't shared a segment in a few months. Due to working full time, volunteer work and what not, it slipped through the long list of items to do. This past week I did find some time to create and record a segment.

At Christmas time I got a great deal on cutter quilts. For those that don't know what a cutter quilt is, it is a piece of old worn out quilt that has been cut into a section. You can use this cut section to create wonderful pieces of primitive treasure. I was lucky enough to get a red and white piece of cutter quilt and made huge primitive stockings for us at Christmas. Along the way I've also managed to pick up some quilted pillow shams at the re-sale shop. They were only like a buck and trust me if I can create something old, new again I'm in heaven lately it seems. Anywho, I got into a crafting buzz one day and made a bunch of Valentine Heart Ornies or Bowl Fillers from an old pillow sham I had gathered on one of many outings. I decided to share this with all the listeners at Prim Talk Radio this past week. I also thought it would be a wonderful free pattern to share with the visitors of my website.

To get your copy, visit Cotton Picken Prims and under the freebie section, you will see all the wonderful free patterns I offer.

Enjoy and happy crafting!

***JUST AN UPDATE: I'VE BEEN HAVING SOME DIFFICULTIES WITH MY SCANNER AND PDF SOFTWARE FOR THIS PATTERN...IT WILL BE AVAILABLE AS SOON AS I GET THE TECHNICAL GREMLINS WORKED OUT. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE***

Back to Blogging

OMG it's been such a long time since I've blogged anything. When do I have the time? Between working full time and all my volunteer work, I hardly have time to relax let alone sit at the computer and Blog. Well with a new year, comes a new outlook and time for change. I decided this year I wanted to get back to basics with my website. Spend more time, creating and promoting my works. So I found this cool little application on Facebook that allows you to create a Fan Page for you business. After countless tries, I finally mastered it. Then I decided why stop there, why not get back into the blogging business as well. To make a long story short, here I sit, typing out words on the keyboard for all to read. I hope you will enjoy reading my latest adventure and will tune in to share my tribulations as a fulltime work aholic and pattern designer/website owner!
